Cover work 21st July


Task
Students should use continue their research on the country they were given to produce a vocabulary page consisting of words associated with the food or cooking of that country.
This should be done in a table format with a detailed explanation of the word
The work should be printed and given to the cover teacher at the end of the lesson

Countries of the World Project


Task 2

Write at least 800 words about the food from the country you have been given to research include information about the following thing that affects the diet

  • Cultural traditions
  • Religious restrictions (briefly)
  • Climate
  • History
  • Other factors you have discovered

 

This essay should be printed and attached to this booklet and emailed to Mrs Kanolik so that it can be put on the Q drive to be used for reference by other students

 

Task 3

Find one dish for the country that you can prepare, cook and serve in 40 minutes (you can use ready prepared pastry/ sauces etc.)

Research the history of the dish and produce a menu card with these details on it.

 

Task 4

Present your finding to the class in a five minute talk

 

Task 5

Bring in the ingredient and menu card - cook the dish in the practical lesson and display it in the kitchen for the rest of the class to taste and learn about the food from the county you have researched. You should only make one portion of food.

The objective is to show the ingredients and flavours of the country you have researched.

You will only have 40 minutes to make the dish so you can bring in ready-made ingredients from the shops. I will buy some quorn so that this can be substituted for meat thus enabling most people to taste the food
